Diverse Ecological Solutions specialises in locally harvesting and cultivating a broad variety of indigenous grass seeds, along with selling plants and plugs grown from our harvested seed.

Tilling the Soil

Diverse Ecological Solutions, a specialist in indigenous grass seed, plug, and plant supply, had an established reputation in agriculture, commercial, and home gardening sectors across South Africa. However, their brand identity and online presence no longer reflected their expertise.

Their existing branding felt outdated, limiting their ability to connect with modern consumers and stand out in a competitive market. Additionally, their website lacked an intuitive structure, making it difficult for customers to browse, learn about their specialised products, and complete purchases efficiently. As more customers turned to online shopping, it became clear that a refreshed brand and a fully optimised website were essential to support their continued growth.

Refreshing Spring Breeze

Our objective was to modernise Diverse Ecological Solutions’ brand while preserving its authenticity and core identity. The key focus areas included:

  • Refining their logo to be fully digital and print-ready, while also creating multiple variations for flexibility across different platforms.
  • Selecting new typography and accent colours to create a cohesive and contemporary visual identity that better represents the brand’s ecological mission.
  • Rebuilding their website and web store with a new UI/UX strategy, making it easier for customers to browse products, learn about their benefits, and make purchases.
  • Refreshing their product packaging to align with the updated brand identity and enhance visual appeal across retail and direct sales.

The goal was to create a seamless, professional, and engaging brand experience that would better resonate with their audience and strengthen their market position.

Planting the Seeds

Logo Refinement & Brand Identity Update: We took the existing logo and refined it to be fully vector-based, ensuring it was digital and print-ready for any application. We also developed a comprehensive set of logo variations, including an icon-only version, a wordmark, and both stacked and horizontal formats. This allowed the brand to be more versatile across different touchpoints, from packaging to social media.

Typography & Colour Palette Selection: A new set of typography and accent colours was chosen to enhance the brand’s visual identity. The fonts were selected for their readability and alignment with the company’s natural, eco-conscious ethos. The accent colours—ranging from vibrant greens inspired by grasslands to a deep, blue—reinforced the brand’s connection to sustainability and biodiversity.

Website & Web Store Overhaul: The previous website struggled with navigation and lacked a user-friendly shopping experience. We completely rebuilt the website, introducing a modern UI/UX design that improved readability, navigation, and accessibility. The new web store offered an intuitive shopping experience, making it easier for customers to explore, learn, and purchase products with minimal friction.

Product Packaging Revamp: To ensure a cohesive and professional brand presence, we redesigned the packaging for their seed mixes. The new packaging not only reinforced the refreshed brand identity but also improved shelf appeal, making their products more attractive to customers in both retail and direct-to-consumer markets.

The refined logo system provided them with the flexibility to use their branding effectively across multiple channels, ensuring brand consistency and recognition. The new typography and colour palette created a unified, modern aesthetic that better represented the brand’s values and vision.

The redesigned website and web store significantly enhanced the user experience, leading to a smoother customer journey and a more efficient purchasing process.
